IMPORTANT NEWS FOR OSCOMMERCE STORE OWNERS
APTCODE RECOMMEND AN IMMEDIATE UPGRADE TO THE NEW
OSCOMMERCE SOFTWARE RELEASE

We believe that recently discovered code exploits have played a significant part in the first general release of an updated osCommerce since the 2.2MS2 version was shipped way back in 2003.

Quoting from the release note:-

"An update to the osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 version has been released that addresses security related issues and bug reports that exist in the released version.
It is recommended for osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 store owners to apply the changes to their installations due to the security issues and bug reports that have been fixed."

Whilst most people may be concerned about the security aspects of this release, there are some other small bug-fixes as well as code changes that should allow osCommerce to work with MySQL version 5.
