osCommerce usually comes pre-configured for the USA market - which means that the default country settings are all American.

This results in various presentation displays that may confuse your customers. For example - regional location names "States" instead of Counties, Date formats with Day/Month positions switched from the UK standard, as well as other input and display items which are formatted to suit American users.
